Michael
Colvin - Graduated in
1998. Wrestled for Queensbury from 1994 - 1996. Participated in the mat rat
program for 9 years which was from 1984 until 1992. He helped coach
that program for three years after that.
Mike is now enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He is stationed at Camp
Lejeune , North Carolina. He works as a switchboard and telephone technician.
After Michael finishes with his enlistment he plans on working for the telephone
company in Myrtle Beach , South Carolina.
Jason
Spector - Graduated in
1992. He placed second in the High School tournament at heavy
weight. Jason graduated from Suny Brockport in 1997 with a degree in Phys. Ed.
While wrestling at Brockport he placed third in the country in 96-97 and
also was a two time Div. three All - American. Jason was a great asset to
the team in helping them to a fourth place finish at the 96 - 97
National Tournament hosted in Ada, Ohio.
He is now back in the Queensbury area teaching at a local school and enjoys
mountain biking and classic cars.
Jim
Strain - Graduated in
1972. Only wrestling for two years in 1971 and72, Jim compiled a record of
44-4. After graduating from Queensbury, Jim went on to wrestle at Auburn
University in Alabama where he earned an athletic scholarship.. At Auburn,
he placed twice in the Southeastern Conference Tournament, 4th in 1974 at
190 lbs and 2nd at 177 in 1976. Jim says that "The great program at
Queensbury gave me the foundation for my later success".
After graduating from college, Jim married Debbie Campbell , Also a Queensbury
Graduate. He completed graduate school at the University of Alabama, receiving
his masters degree in Human Resources Management. Jim and his wife Debbie have
lived in Oregon for the last 20 years and fondly remember their times at
Queensbury.
Larry Van
Denburg - Graduated in 1976. Was a Class "B" Champ at 126
pounds in his 75 - 76 senior season. Attended Suny Binghamton in 1977
through 1981. Larry is now living in Huntington Beach , Ca. with his wife Nancy
and three children David, Lauren, and Ryan. He works as a Senior Ops
Manager at Toshiba America Medical. Larry enjoys coaching Club and AYSO
Soccer as well as Little League Baseball.
Larry writes :

You will never fully understand the positive influence
that you had on us as young men and how that shaped us
into the adults we are today. Woody and I talk fondly
of our afternoons in the wrestling room. Through the
laughs, the tears and yes even the fights. Thank you for
the time and effort. As a father that spends alot of my own
time coaching, I take alot of the lessons that I learned in the
wrestling room and apply them to the soccer and baseball fields.

John
Guglielmo - Graduated from Queensbury in 1983. Attended SUNY Brockport
and eventually joined the Navy in 1984.
John is currently a Chief Petty Officer stationed at the Broadened
Opportunity for Officer selection and training program in Newport RI. He has a
wonderful wife and three great children. John say's that wrestling taught him
the meaning and importance of mental and physical toughness and the lessons that
are learned on the mat and in the pratice room will stay with you forever.
